My Bio
My name is Erin "Eirewolf" Metcalf, and I'm a leatherworker and sculptor living in Silicon Valley, California. I sculpted fantasy creatures (especially dragons and Dragon Snails™) in clay for several years (most of which can be found here in my deviantART gallery). More recently I discovered leather maskmaking, and fell in love with leather as a sculpting medium.

I call my aesthetic "whimsical realism." I enjoy the process of designing animals and fantasy creatures as masks, and then carving the designs into vegetable-tanned leather. I then sculpt the masks using a wet-forming technique, and dye and paint them. There are many steps in the process, all of which I do by hand with an eye for detail and craftsmanship. The resulting masks are unique works of art that you can be proud to hang on the wall when you're not wearing them.

I am constantly learning more about leather crafting; the possibilities of things one can create with leather are nearly endless. I am branching out from maskmaking into leather eye patches, jewelry, and other accessories as well, so be on the lookout for them!

Gear up for the resistance! These 1-inch wide leather bracelets have the word RESIST in capital letters burned into the leather by hand with a pyrography tool. Snap closure. Leather jewelry is tough and stands the test of time… and so will the Resistance. For each RESIST bracelet sold, I will donate $10 to a nonprofit resistance organization. So I realized it's been almost a year and a half since my last journal... I suck at blogging.  :XD:  So I decided to do some shameless self-promotion instead of leaving an ancient and obsolete journal entry up there on my main page. Shameless self-promotion:  I make really cool leather masks and eye patches!  Lately I have also started making really cool leather cuff bracelets!  Check them out here in my deviantART gallery, or go to my shop to see all the stuff that's currently for sale! /ShamelessSelfPromotion Have a lovely and creative day!  :aww:

Hello, your arts and crafts are amazing! I also especially love the dragon snails! Snails and dragons are some of my favorite creatures :D

Hello I love your work And i was wondering if there was any chance i could sculpt my own snail dragon :)
Hello, don't worry i'm not here to mention the Dragon Snails SCPs. I just really like your masks.  :)
LOL... Thank you so much! :aww:
You probably get a lot of comments and questions regarding the dragon snail images already, so I apologize in advance for adding to that pile. Also, sorry if this is overly wordy and clinical, that's just how I type when I get nervous. ._.'

I recently began working on a DnD-version of the SCP Dragon Snail, and was wondering if I could have your permission to use a couple of your Dragon Snail pictures (specifically, First Sight Kinoko, Nyoka, and Near Miss.) in the work. I promise to keep the watermarks visible and unaltered, and will include credit to you at the end of the document. I'm making this with the intention of eventually sharing it on r/UnearthedArcana and my Tumblr, with no intention of monetary gain. I'll be more than glad to send you a link to the finished work.

....I feel like I'm overthinking just a little. XD
Hi; sorry it took me so long to respond! Thank you for asking permission; yes you may use those images with the watermarks, and with credit. I'd love to see it when it's finished! Thanks!
Might I draw these cuties? (Dragon snails) I can send a pic when I'm done with it. I just wanted to ask.

Cool scp!
